Alfelor Still Decided to Run for Governor

IRIGA CITY - Mayor Emmanuel R. Alfelor denied reports that he had already decided not to run for governor of Camarines Sur after he was allegedly berated by his partymates for campaigning even without the consent of their political party.

The reports were however considered unfounded, according to Iriga City Administrator Atty. Aldo Turiano. He said that there was really no changes in the plans of Mayor Alfelor to run for governor.

The city administrator who also serves as the spokesman of the city mayor admitted though that Alfelor has indeed temporarily stopped his scheduled visits in various parts of the province to give way to the very important activities in Iriga City including the famous "Tinagba Festival" which will be held on February 18.

Mayor Alfelor, Turiano added is just waiting for the decision of the Lakas-NUCD-Kampi and Aksyon Demokratiko as to who will finally be selected before finally making a decision.

Of all the gubernatorial aspirants, Alfelor has the greatest exposure and have already visited over one half of the towns in Camarines Sur in the past few months.

Alfelor who is now on his 3rd consecutive term as city mayor is already disqualified to run for re-election in the 2004 election.
