Communist Terrorists Captured In Police Raid

SORSOGON CITY - Six communist terrorists were captured in the hot pursuit operations conducted by the elements of 2nd lnfantry Battalion in Barangay Mariñas here, last Friday, February 15, at around 6:30 in the morning.

The captured CTs were among the suspected perpetrators in the February 14 evening raid of the PNP Kababayan Center at Poblacion, Gubat, Sorsogon where three policemen on duty were killed.

A report rendered by LTC Romeo Cabatic, 2nd lB commander, to Lt. Col. Pedrito Magsino, commanding officer of the 901st Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army, said the troops conducting pursuit operations chanced upon the 6 CTs, some of whom were in fatigue uniforms, resting in a safehouse at the vicinity of Barangay Mariñas.

The apprehended CTs were immediately turned over to Sorsogon police provincial office for proper disposition. Recovered from the suspects were: one cal. 38 revolver, 12 rounds of ammunitions for cal. 45, one live ammo for 30 caliber, and 2 backpacks containing personal belongings and enemy documents of high intelligence value. The Army troopers also recovered at around 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon of same day the red passenger jeep that was used in the raid in Barangay Union, Gubat town.

It was turned over to the Gubat police for proper disposition. The driver and the owner of the said passenger jeep were investigated by Gubat police, to determine their participation in the raid.

The Philippine Army in coordination with the Sorsogon police have filed multiple murder case against the captured CTs for their involvement in the raid of Kababayan Center in Gubat.
